Rasheda Begum lives in ward No-06, Telkola village of Palongkhali union. She has two sons and two daughters. Her day was going on in Great difficulty. She worked as a day laborer. By this small income she maintained her family. She is a beneficiary of PHALS. Last June she was enlisted for livelihood supported. And she was given one day training on livelihood before being given support. Then she was given financial support of 23,000.00 TK. With that money she bought a goat, five chickens and used the rest of the money to grow vegetables. Now she has 29 chickens out of five. The goat gives birth of a kid. Due to disease she sold out it by 12,000 Tk. The vegetable garden has been quite good. Already she earned 8,000.00 from producing summer crop and from winter crop production (Radish, Beans) she earned 12,000 Tk. She purchased a calf by 23,000 Tk. Some have been using for purchasing daily consuming items. Some chickens are laying eggs regularly which is also a source of income generating, family consuming nutrition source. Now, she can eat pesticide free green vegetables from her garden as and when needs rather than depending on market. She has no shortage now, she found to save some money for her crisis period. Boys and girls have been readmitted to school. Now she is happy. For this reason, she is forever grateful to PHALS for her success. In the future Rasheda wants to take this progress much further.
